You will need:

  • Circles of coloured card – I drew round a cup to get the size I wanted
  • Hole punch
  • Curling ribbon (buy it at a greetings card shop), wool or string
  • Pens, coloured pencils or crayons
  • Scissors

The children should draw faces on the circles – or just make pretty patterns! With help they should be able to punch holes at the edge of the circles – just one at a time! – and thread a length of ribbon or string through so that the ribbon goes behind the faces they’ve drawn.
