This penguin was designed as a Christmas decoration but you could make it without the Santa hat for a different time of year!

You will need:

  • Black card
  • Red card for Santa hat
  • Yellow card or paper for beak & feet
  • Googly eyes
  • Cotton wool
  • Hole punch and ribbon if you want to be able to hang it up

Cut egg-shaped pieces of black card and hat-shaped pieces of red card in advance; also cut out a supply of yellow triangles for beaks and feet.  You can print off a template with the shapes here.

Children should glue the hat, eyes, beak and feet onto the egg shape.  Then add cotton wool to make the white fluffy bits.  Once it is all finished, you can punch a hole in the hat and thread a ribbon through it to allow the penguin to be hung on a Christmas tree.
