Spiral snakeThe sneaky snake from the Garden of Eden (or any snake story) can be hung up to decorate a room.

You will need:

  • Sheets of coloured card
  • Googly eyes
  • Pens/pencils/crayons, or paint
  • (Optionally) stickers
  • Hole punch
  • String or wool
  • Scissors

Draw a snake in a spiral on a sheet of card. Cut along the lines and you can use it as a template to produce more. Alternatively, you can do the picture on the computer (I might do one for you if I can be bothered) and print sheets off in advance.

It is probably easiest for the children to decorate their snakes before they are cut out. They can paint or colour patterns on, and/or stick stickers to make the snakes spotty. If you have googly eyes these can be stuck on. (One of mine fell off before the photo was taken!)

Spiral snake hangingYou will probably want adults to do the cutting out. Once the snake has been cut out, use a hole punch to make a hole in its tail, and tie some string or wool to the tail so that the snake can be hung up.
