Something to play with as well as to make. Turn the wheel to change which animals are looking out of the windows of the Ark.
You will need:
- Card Noah’s ark shapes (Noah’s Ark template here) – you can use white or coloured card
- Animal wheels printed on white card (Animal wheels here)
- Paper fasteners / split pins
- Scissors
- Coloured pens, pencils or crayons
In advance, cut out an ark and a wheel of animals for each child. Make sure you cut out the windows, and make a hole in the centre of the wheel and the ark. If you have pinking scissors (zigzag cut) then use those to cut out the animal wheels, to make them easier to turn.
The children should colour the Ark and the animals. Help them to put a split pin through the hole to join the two bits of card together. The wheel should stick out a little below the bottom of the Ark – if it doesn’t, cut a bit off the Ark. Then you can push the Ark along on a table and the wheel should turn, changing the animals on view.
